ok it's raining and I just left my parking spot from the grocery store with the car loaded down with groceries in the trunk. I'm doing 10 mph with O/D off and off the corner of my eye, I see a message flash in the message center screen but it was too quick to be read and it was gone. The message flashed again a second time 15 feet later, for only a fraction of a second but this time I was able to read it 'CHECK TRANS - MISSION' then just like the first time, it was gone. Message didn't stay up for very long.

I stop the car to look under the car to see if my tranny is hemorrhaging fluids. No leaks. Checked the Tranny fluid dipstick. Its Full. Soaking wet, I get back in the car, take out my SCT3 from my glove compartment to check for DTC: No codes.

Proceeded to drive the car to listen and feel for anything unusual. I did not hear or feel anything out of the ordinary. So I drove her home without the message ever reappearing again. This is my '97 LSC driven less than 40 miles per month.

Has anyone ever seen or heard about this happenning before? What am I suppose to check? Today was the only time this message has ever appeared.

It could be possible that the MLPS got wet from the rain and if it's old, it may have a leak and letting moisture in and causing the code. Besides internal solenoids, I can't think of anything else right off hand.

Could be a low voltage/alt issue but I would think it cycle through all the warning messages. +1 on the leaky/old MLPS or connector/wires at the MLPS.

The 4R70W main harness plug faces up, so it may have gotten enough water laying on it to cause a intermittent short - being it happened in the pouring rain, that or what everyone said about the MLPS would be my guesses.

My car once did that when I drove through a puddle when it was rainy. It scared the crap out of me, but I havent had any problem s or messages since then. *knocks on wood*
