how hard is it to get a duplicate title? it isn't that difficult up here.

We file for lost titles here and get them within 2 weeks or less. My dad died and I had signed his name to the title to swap it over into my name but I signed in the wrong place. They gave me paperwork to fill out but they thought he was still living and that he could go with me to have it notarized. I let it go for a while and then went back and said the title was lost and gave them a death certificate. She made a copy of it and I signed a paper and had the title in a week 1/2 in my name. This was for the GMC truck.

In IL the owner that was on the title has to be the one to file, its a pain in the arse.

I've been watching that one for about 2 months on cl.
No title no seats ect. It's in Mansfield tx.
