8-9 thousand would be pretty decent. He would be lucky if he got 12+.

Like a/thing else, it's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. They always put a BIN price well above what they know it will end up selling for. If it doesn't sell this go-round, it will be offered up again, and possibly again & again, with the BIN being dropped sooner or later. It's retail, and unless they've got the cash to sit on it, the name of the game is to turn inventory.
