I really really didn't feel like going threw the hell of taking the rear diff out or dropping the tank. So I took a ball joint tool and pulled out the old joint and pressed in a new one.

Don't think there is enough room to do the front one but I didn't check as the rear was the main one to do today.

Changed it completely, now it has a vibe at low speeds but after you go over 60 it starts to go away

If you drop the exhaust the front should be no problem to get to. Or at least hang the exhaust.

Thing that sux about doing the front is I already returned the tool. I could rent it again but I am not feeling it in the front. Anything is possible but I ain't doing it right now. LCA's and the power steering leak are next on the list...

I have a 95 and my cel is on like yours at time. I was hearing stern live this morning as well. How much did that dvd radio cost you?

Since the radio is an out of production Alpine I got it from Crutchfield for a bit over $500 with a 2 year warranty. The Sirius I have had since 04' or so in my WRX so I swapped it over to the Mark since the Subaru is gonna be more race now.

The cell came on after I put the Alpine in. Code was reading low pressure in AC or something like that? Have to scan and fix it at some point...

it was the front u joint that seized on my car

When I had the back joint out I fiddled with the shaft (man that really didn't come out sounding right...) and it felt perfect. No slop or feelings of it being seized.

I only drove it about a mile with the new joint in to get gas so far so I have to feel it out to decide the next course of action

The gas tank isn't that hard to take out... I think I'd rather drop the tank then have to work in a cramped area. I mean, it sounds like you already had the tank bone dry... I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Yes I ran the tank low on gas just in case I had to drop it but I decided to try the ball joint tool instead. The tool worked really well so I went to return it and all of a sudden the range dropped 3 miles in a 1/4 mile trip

Now I have to run out of gas if I want to swap shafts or put in the front U joint.

I see you have a 96 so your lucky that you have obd2.

I bet there are a bunch Engineers that designed these cars lerking on these sites just laughing their asses off

Some of the ordeals you have to go through just to change out simple parts is just plain cruel

Actually that is pretty much the main reason I didn't want to get this Mark. I have had older FE powered Ford and everything was just so it has to be that year to fit! Even my clutch cause it was out of a Mercury and put into a truck it was a nightmare to get parts and make sure there right :(

However aside the IMRC's being only for my car, I have a spare engine. So I'm covered on that at least for now. I like the double din my 96' has and I would prefer the 97/98 taillights over my lil bulbs that always seem to burn out

Hey the car cost me $1000 and gave me 70k outta that so far. I can't complain all that much

Yeah even nicer!

I just came home from E-town basically cause I was at Club 516. It is across Rt18 opposite of the track. Anyway the car is fairly nice and smooth even up to 70mph but when you mash the throttle or even get kinda into it the vibration comes on hard

When I was under it today I inspected the front U joint as best I could and didn't see anything wrong. However I did notice that the trans mount is completely SHOT

Wonder it when I mash it the trans gets so out of angle it is making it do the vibrations?
