Hey guys, I was looking a an 06 LS in the White Tri Coat that would need some scratches taken care of. Is this color an easy one to match up if you had to respray a bumper? It would drive me nuts if it was off enough to notice.

THe car isn't local, so it would have to be a good deal for me to take a shot at it, but we'll see...

I have an 06 with the white cashmere tri-coat paint. I've had a front bumper mold replaced (tire in the middle of the interstate) and then later a front passenger door and fender replaced and other damage repaired (guy ran a red light). Both times, the new paint matched well enough that I couldn't tell the new from the old.

Isn't that white a pearl coat? Mine is and I recently had the front bumper cover replaced. The finish is better than new. However as I know the shop owner well I wouldn't want to foot the bill myself after he told me what it cost.

AFAIK, the only paint colors for 2006 were:
DV — Light Tundra/Titanium Green
F6 — Ceramic White (tri-coat)
G2 — Redfire
G3 — Pueblo Gold
G4 — Cashmere (tri-coat)
HH — Dark Cherry
HJ — Pewter Metallic
JP — Silver Birch Metallic
T7 — Charcoal Beige
UA — Ebony

Agree except the pueblo gold was called light French silk and the redford was called vivid red.

And as for touching it up or re-painting yes it can be done. Just make sure you take it to a body shop you really trust and expect to pay alot more for the tri-coat then a regular color.

How close is ceramic white to the 1st gen pearl white?

From what he said there is a scratch on the roof as well. I sent some photo requests and questions that he hasn't responded to, so who knows. It would have to be a real deal to take a chance because like you said, it's not a quick trip down the road...

IIRC they had both the ceramic and pearlescent white back when we bought ours. They kept ceramic and dropped pearlescent in '03. They are not the same.
