hello all, i had a couple questions. right now i have semi mettalic pads from autozone and they are LOUD, esp after they heat up, and it drives me crazy. is this something specific to the metallic pads? i understand ceramic have less stopping power but are much smoother and have more fade? anyone have any comments or suggestions? thanks

Yes noise and horrible dust are both issues that come from semi-metallic brakes, ceramic is the way to go they cost more but you get what you pay for. And with new pad technology I would not worry about stopping distance from ceramics.

I have the ceramic duralast gold from autozone on my drill/slotted rottors and they work great. They were around 100 bucks for all 4 wheels I beleive. No noise at all and the car stops much better.

go for the ceramic's. I have learned cheap brakes on marks dont work went through three sets of pads trying to get rid of the noise.

Less stopping power?? Get ceramics. They may make slight noises when cold under light braking but other than that they're great.
