I want to thank all you guys for input on cd players.Turborich is the reason my 1995 cd player works again. After stripping the player and cleaning the laser eye, and checking everything, it still would say no cd. I took the cartdridge out and slid the silver slide back and forth a few times (no large click like rich had), left the slide to the front, re inserted the cartdridge, and wala cd player works great. The slide makes sure all the cd's are in place in the cartdridge. While the cartdridge is out, look inside at the arm that hangs down. It should be straight up and down. If not tweak it a little. This arm hits a mini-micro switch that lets the player know the cartdridge is in. Thanks again.
