CD Player problems

I have a radio w/ 6cd changer and i have to replace it with another radio because the first one was damaged................................Here my question
I have tried 2 different factory radios and the same message comes out........it says that there is a CD ERROR so my Cd player wont work is there something that I can do to RESET that or are the radios that I have gotten just no good?

Are there any suggestions am trying to keep that factory radio and not put in an after market radio.

does it have the in-dash cd player, or the one in the glove box?

if it says that there is a "cd error" that usualy means that there is a mechanical error with the cd player itself and the only way that I know to reset it, is to unplud it for a min and plug it back in. if that doesnt fix the problem then there is probaly somthing out of alignment. I have seen it happen a lot in the ford 6 disc in-dash players
