CD-error Face won't close

I have a 2004 ls with the nav system. I'm having a problem with the unit. When I open the screen, it won't close with the open/close button. It won't eject the CDs and it gives me a "CD-Error" when I try to play one.

Has anyone else seen this. Can it be reset/repaired, or am I just boned?

Typically a disc is stuck. The work is easy, but time consuming.

Are there instructions anywhere? What about the fact the the face won't close?

Mine started doing that. I just kept changing and loading cd's in different spots.

mine does that once in awhile. I just give it a whack on the side and the cd pops out and all is ok
