So I have a question,

I pulled my pre-cat O2 sensors and the car still runs like crap. It ran great the day and the day after I pulled like the exhaust could breathe again. But here we are day three and back to the hard idle the stalling and the not running.

Could the cats be so clogged the only exhaust exit is the o2 sensor holes.

Shouldn't that be enough to at least idle, or is it still probably way to restrictive.

I am about done with this thing.

I'd take it to a shop but with college loans I just don't have the money...

So this is what I found,

With a 2.125" ID of our exhaust at a velocity of 1" per second* we would flow at a rate of 3.5466 cubic inches per second

with the "hole" I created by removing the o2 sensor ~.45" at the same velocity* it would flow at a rate of.39443

So for the velocity I used a generic number more for a percentage comparison, even at a higher or lower velocity the over all percentage of flow loss would be exactly the same.

Some thing tells me even with some flow I just do not have nearly enough with fully plugged cats to drive.

Quick check..... Hit the cats with a rubber mallet. If you hear any type of rattling they are most likely clogged.

also, remember the other sensors... if the other is still installed and not getting the same readings as the one you pulled, it might be confusing the computer....maybe. might be able to confirm with a battery reset. it it runs fine that would lead me to believe its a sensor issue...
