I am curious to find out how to keep the plastic headlamps from becoming hazy and ruined from the elements. To bad they aren't glass.

My car is nearing 5 years and 107k miles and have only used soap and water. I also use 20/20 glass cleaner from Eagle One occasionally.

I use Meguiar's Plastx Clear Plastic Cleaner on all of the headlights I buff out for sale. This is a wonderful product and is best applied with a buffer. However, you can apply it by hand but to get the stubborn stains out I'd recommend a dual action buffer. Here's a link to the product:

Waxing with a non-abrasive wax is fine, but if the headlights are not yellowed or scratched I would not use a polish or buffer on them. All plastic headlamps have a hard coating on the plastic, once this has been polished off they will need to be polished fairly frequently.
