Hey Guys, What's up? Tried to run to the store, car starts and then dies after about 5 seconds. Repeated several times with no luck so i just used the truck seemed fine yesterday. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys, I popped my hood and silly me this has not happend to me since I put my CAI on but my large vacume line was OFF!
What's the best way to attach these connections?

I don't see which line you are talking about. However, a vacuum line shouldn't be able to come off as the engine should always be sucking on it. The only thing I can think is that if the vacuum line connects to the CAI directly, either the CAI has perhaps moved the port the vacuum line connects to further from the opposite end, or the line is wrapping around something that is letting the movement of the engine tug at it. The fix would be a new, longer vacuum line. Then, use a regular hose clamp to keep it connected. If the port that the line is connecting to is chromed like the rest of the CAI, then the chrome may be making it easier for the hose to slide off. A little sandpaper to roughen the surface where the hose fits on would help keep the hose in place. No need to worry about the appearance, check how far the hose will go on the port, then don't sand quite that far down. The hose will cover the sanded area.

I don't think he was talking about an actual "vacuum" line. I think he was talking about a PCV vent hose that connects to the intake between the MAF and the throttle. It wouldn't be under much vacuum most of the time. The problem would be that it was letting unmetered air in, so the mixture would be too lean.

It's the thick vac line on the left side of the motor,just above the engine cover rubber boot. The port comming out of the CAI tube is alot smaller so I slid a silicone sleve over it and then slid my factory vac/pvc line over it and it has fit kind of snug untill then. Has other members had this problem and what were the fixes?

Sounds like your problem then. If you are adapting two different line sizes together you want a hard fitting to make the line size adjustment. The silicone line won't do it. You can get an adapter in a hard material that will allow you to get a firm fit all the way across.
