Car won't run

So I'm driving along in my 00 LS, no problems, repeat no problems. I had been on the interstate for about 30 miles running about 70 and I got off stopped at a store, still no problems. I come back to my car start it up and it's hard to start, but it starts and there is this awful noise coming from the motor, sounds like my fan hitting the radiator, it's knocking, spitting and sputtering and when I take my foot off the gas it dies. When the engine is running it will hardly move even with the accelarator all the way to the floor. WTF happened?

Your IAC valve (if you have one) could have failed. You will not be able to idle without it.

Sounds like a timing issue to me by the way you're describing it. My car did the same thing. I pulled up to my house got out, chilled for awhile, got back in and started the car and it broke a secondary timing chain. Good luck and I hope that is not your problem.

Turns out the secondary timing chain tensioner had broke, which in turn cause the secondary timing chain to break. Ordered the parts today, expect them to be in tomorrow, and then we put it back together. Should I expect any surprises?

What all parts did you order? I changed all the chains, tensioners, and guides and I suggest you do the same. If one side went bad, then the other side will go soon so save you some time. You do know that you have to remove the head and have it worked. Good luck.
