My 01 v6 with 73k on it sounds like crap. I cant really discribe what the sound sounds like but when i shift it into gear it gets worse. it seems to be running fine maybe a little sluggish. I know this is kinda vague but i cant really pin point the noise or what it sounds like. when im sitting at a stop light it will drop idle then go back up right away. It also smells like it is running rich. im not sure how to attack this. If i take it to a dealer it could be really heavy on the pocket. Do you think the plugs need to be changed? Tranny service?
The best way to describe the noise is kind of like a deisel. Not as loud but kinda of a knocking sound. Somebody told me lifter noise. Anyways any little tid bit is appreciated. Thanks guys
