Car Shuts off while Driving

Ok guys so Im back again with another problem. I tell you I love my car but I hate the problems. I think I got stuck with the worst LS on the road. Anyways, I was drving last night and every time I slow down for a light or to turn or something the car just dies. No check charking system warning or anything, IT JUST DIES. As soon as I put the car in N or P it starts right up again but the problem happen about 5 - 10 mins later.

Any ideas?

Here's what I found out

I looked under the hood and realized that my high flow intake filter fell off so that no air filter was there at all. I tried to put it on when the car was running and it shut off. So i turned the car of reinstalled it and went around the block. No shutting off, for all those experts could an air intake with no air filter cause the car to shut off every so often?

Absolutely...not to mention internal damage, MAF failure. Not a good thing.
