Car is in for GMS coils and crazy mustang engine piks

gwl i posted on another thread and had forgot this one, but yes i figured out the problem. it was a clip from the harness that connects to the coil. it is broken but i put some electrical tape on it and it's working fine. turns out it wasn't the gms coils and i will be going next week to put them back in and probably get it dyno'd. i'll keep the update on this project

Spectacular! I'm lookin forward to gettin some coils!!

Given the general interest in this, can we get this thread (or a new one on the subject) set as a sticky?

Yea, my eight (8) Motorcraft ignition coils that have less than 5k miles on them and are younger than 2 months are already failing.

the workers at granatelli motorsports have been racing on the weekends which are the only days i can go. so whenever they stop hitting the track i will go over there and have them back in the car and they will be able to make them available to everyone

good luck with the granatelli's. i bought some for an 02 lighitning in january and have already had to send 5 back to microtech and have them replaced.

Any news on this Rick, I shot a 'what's up email to Curt' so I hope that this will get GMS back on track.

I think that we will be getting some v6 prototypes just around the corner as well. Curt seems to think that he will have a workable prototype soon.

I'm trying to work out with him who and when will we get these prototypes tested.

Been trying to keep too many pots stirred, so I hope that I can try to keep the heat on this issue for a bit now.

Jes, I just noticed this but in your sig you claim to have had two stang sedans. Never seen a stang sedan, well, I take that back, a few years ago I saw in MMFF where a guy had taken another car and put a Mustang front end on to make a "mustang sedan". Got any pics?

Umm, In NJ there were only to categories that you could register a Mustang in

Sedan = Squareback or notchback
and
Hatchback, which I did not have.

so I had a Sedan according to NJ, it was a Coupe according to Pa the year before and my other stang was a "sportscar" (interesting since it was 2.3l 4cylinder hatchback).

Sorry if the NJ DMV classifications are confusing.

They consider my 2001 Honda VFR a Touring machine, but IIHS calls it a supersportbike.

the guy from GMS never called me back and after so many phone calls and pestering him about calling me when convinent he did not return my calls. i got tired of the run-around and never called back. if you get any updates on your end let me know. i'm sure the coils work as i stated before there was something wrong with my harness that caused the misfire on bank 3 but he never called to put them in again, go figure. sry if i take long to post but i do not have readily available internet access anymore.
