car humming and slight grind , when on park and when in gear

so i started noticing this loud (noticeable humm ) when i would stay at a red light and when i would press on the accelerator for a split second it would make a grind noise

the sounds are very similar to when your low on power steering except it doesn't make the noise when im turning the wheel, only at a stop and the grinding noise when accelerating for the first millisecond

heres a video i took, 17 seconds in i put the car in gear and you can barely hear the grind, please note, i am NOT driving the car at all in the video , its at a dead stop

i had to up my volume to 100 to catch the grinding noise , i promise no loud screming satan child will appear on your screen making your ears bleed


PS i don't have a CAI or any mods on my car to be causing the noise, a few days ago my engine light came on for a few days , reason was supposedly my catalytic converter 1 (according to autozone), but since has gone off and hasn't showed up since

this just started yesterday , also coincidental it dropped about 25 degrees where i live dont know if that would have anything to do with it , also all fluids are in check

all the way at the bottom another guy posted saying "I replaced the idle air control valve and the humming went away."

could that be the issue with mine?



.........nevermind apperantly these cars doesnt have one , so wth

No Idle air control valve on the gen II.

Sounds like your engine is suffering to stay on , is urs a v8 or v6 ? Id check the catalytic converter since it did trigger the engine light in the first place , happened to my friend's saturn and later his engine eventually failed

well i know i need to change my coils and plugs, as far as the cat. it does that from time to tme but eventualy the light goes away and doesnt come back untill about 6 months later with same code

mine is a V6
