So, I have a 2000 LS V8. I just got done replacing the transmission and was filling up the transmission fluid through a liquid pump evacuator. I have done this before and am well aware that you need to start the vehicle up after your fluid starts to overfill in order to get it cycled through the transmission and such. After I had pumped as much trans fluid as it would take into the transmission and bolted it back up, and I went to start the car and shifted through the gears like you are suppose to. However, when i got to D5, it killed the engine immediately. I tried this again and the same result. I do know that there probably isn't enough transmission fluid in there but this did not happen the last time that I did this for someone else. Are there any other ideas out there for this problem before I spend any more time or money for the dealer to try to figure it out?
