Can I use a NAPA (BOSCH) o2 sensor or must it be a FORD OEM only?

NAPA rep told me in order to clear my TOO LEAN and TOO RICH code, I have to ONLY use a FORD OEM SENSOR. I used a NAPA MAF sensor it worked fine.

Do I need to disconnect the battery when replacing the o2 sensor? Also, anyway I can clear the codes when I do install the o2 or do I need to plug in the scanner in order to clear it?

No need to disconnect the battery. You can disconnect it while working on the sensors to clear the codes, though.

Dealer told me I HAD to use MotorCraft spark plugs only and that the Bosch Platinums I gave them, would eventually "cause me problems" later on. That was about 35k miles ago..engine running just fine.
