Are those hids on the ls or just brighter halogens? I get the part about the coating, there are stage1 bulbs that are stock replacements that are 55 watts, then stage 2 are high output halogen upgrade bulbs and are 80 watts. I have the 80 watts, I would atleast think it would light the same as stock 55 watts with the coating on it being 80watts but not less.
Can I swap out non HID headlights for HID headlights?

Those are halogens on the LS. Hoen Xenomatch 55W H11s in the lows and fogs.

The fogs actually seem brighter to me for some reason but the lows seem a little less bright. Not a huge difference but on the lows but you would notice. I'm leery of high wattage bulbs and don't feel like spliciong into the factory wiring for relays and then having to deal with the bulb out message.
I just put the bulbs on. Didn't relay or anything. Dont really know what that actually does but my bulbs are still working. Haven't burned out or burned the headlight.I emailed someone about the bulbs asking about the light output. Just waiting on what they say
