I have a full coil conversion kit but I just want to convert my front springs for now.

I borrowed the front air spring out of my 93 for my 97 when my 97's bag poopped and I didn't have a replacement.

So I got a full conversion kit from someone for my 97.

I need to get my 93 on the road but I really don't feel like tackling the rear air springs on my 97 which aren't leaking at this point.

So what I want to do is just convert my front air springs out of my 97 to coil springs that way I can get the air spring back into my 93 but I don't know how to split the system so that the computer only controls the rear springs.

Suggestions?

But how to I prevent the compressor from trying to blow up the front bags when they aren't there and how do I trick the computer into thinking that the front bags are still in place so I don't get the error. I want the rear bags to continue to work properly.

Check with Eddie at American Air.

He has a write up on how to do either front, back, or both.

Question: any reason not to just do the entire car? Lack of funds is a good reason. :)

Oops, nm. Just actually read your first post. Backs are very easy (easier then the fronts) but will add another hour or so to the job.

Well I got the fronts done. They are easy for me. After taking the bottom nuts off, the bolts jsut pushed though with finger pressure. I like living in an area with no rust.

I put the height sensors back in and started the car up. As soon as I turned it on, I got the check air ride error. I have the solenoids unplugged in the front so that they won't try to pump up.

you dont have to. I had my front air bags removed and installed springs. The compressor is still there. But at first I just changed out the old air bags in the front and left the rear bags, but about 6 months later the rears went dead one day. So I have full conversion but left the compressor

Well today I was out and my rear bags bottomed out on me when I was parked at a really weird angle. Drove home and changed out the rear bags for the springs and all is well with the world.
