I've had a slight Trans leak for a while now and it's just getting worse. It looks like its coming from the front seal but since I'm dropping the Trans I want to replace all seals, gaskets, ect that are normally prone to leaking eventually. I just don't want to order the wrong parts so a list of the parts and the best places to get them would be greatly appreciated :). Thanks for the help.

With the dipstick tube, can I use any kind of o-ring for that or does someone actually sell that specific part?

dipstick tube uses an oring. I think you can get the exact one at a dealer. It was a widely used trans so I am sure the oring is still available and only a few dollars. You could always go to a part store but then it might not fit perfectly. A forward leak can also be the pump seal (as mentioned) but that is probably not something you should change unless you know what you are doing. Your torque converter could also be leaking, but is probably the least likely source.

Pump gasket[/QU

Is the pump gasket the same thing as the oil pump seal?

No the pump gasket is a paper gasket about a foot in dia. The pump is the part where you install the front seal into, that whole cast iron front part. Those don't leak that much really. Also I got my dip stick tube o ring from for ford for like 2 bucks.

Another quick question, is the Timken 3404 the front seal or the torque converter seal. On autopartswarehouse site they say the Timken 3404 is a TC seal. If anything I'd like to buy both the front seal and the TC seal. Is the TC seal the front seal. I just want to make sure before I order it.
