My brother's Mark VIII LSC [burbank98lsc here] vs 05 LS2 GTO ,one of the nicest races he got that day .My brother pulled 1.58 60'  with stock heavy front wheels , stock IRS and stock 4R70W trans on 8.5'' slicks .We'll be going back to the track in couple weeks with Prostars on his car .I'll post more videos later on as he also run against EVO,TBSS,SRT4,turbo civic, another LS2 GTO ,LT1 Camaro.Bad a$$ Mark VIII ,you guys should see all the attention he got at the track when he smoked every car he lined up against, there was a crowd of people by his car as everyone was wondering what the hell that car has under the hood.many people got confused when he said he's running 281 cid :D as most of the people were asking if that car has 460 BBF .

what all mods were done to the motor to take 11lbs....that was freaking awesome

Man i miss going out there with you guys now...

Congratulations on the kills. It was amazing as usual!:)

What's the fastest 1/4 any one's ever done in a mark?

Maybe with a 4.6 in it. Not the fastest ever. Got a bbc mark near me thats 9's. Really not a mark anymore but a body. But low 11's is crazy fast for a street mark. I can only dream...

Tree'd the CRAP out of the GTO!

Which should have been worth 2 car lenths at the stripe, then ran .2 quicker and had 2MPH at the stripe.

So he probably beat him by 4 cars and was pulling away..!

GREAT pass!

Nice! These cars are definatly sleepers! I saw that mark on a few vids including the vid against that 6 or 700hp supra and killed it!! Nice car!

Fastest pass so far is 11.07 @ 125.62

stupid IS as stupid does.

do you really THINK the only reason to "have a cage" is so "some tech guy" at a track doesnt "trip"?

M'kay.....

Street cars have gotten faster over the years and NHRA rules are having a hard time keeping up. If the car gets deep into the 10's I would install one...

You have to look the other way too as cages on street driven cars are very dangerous without a helmet.I agree with you that cage is very important but if you have a trailer drag car that doesn't see any street miles.Mike's car never been on a trailer and it has been driven very often. It's 120 miles round trip to US41 for us ,we went to GLD in Wisconsin last year which was 100 + miles each way.

I will agree with you in that aspect....cages without helmets is bad, equally as bad if not worse.

Only thing to do at that point is detune it to a level that is safe for the environment the car is operated in... sad to say, and as "old" as that makes me sound.

Yes that sound like very bad idea, old man. You said it. The mark must still be safer than a rag top at like highway speeds. F it he knows what hes dealing with if he cannt handle it then thats his problem. On the street many cars can go 120 if pushed.

keep bumpin yer gums "mr I drag around a compressed gas cylinder in my car".
(grins a smack talk smile)

Although I know 99% of the time your compressed gas cylinder is empty thus completly safe..right?

HAha

and I'm fully aware that a STONE STOCK mark 8 will eventually "get to the speed" that the NHRA requires a cage to be installed in the car..

I still stand by my statement, piss and moan all you like.

My 84 SVO had a 6 point cage in it and I put 275,000 mile on that car.
It didn't have a cage because it went 120+ in the 1/4, it had a cage because the Current and inplace SCCA Showroom Stock rules said it had to have a cage.
So it had a cage.

I wasn't an "old man" then either.

and, other than getting into and out of the car I never injured myself with the cage, but I didn't drive like a jackass on the street either.
*shruggs*

Yeh yeh you should always follow the rules. Thats why they made them right!!! If my car was that fast I would pull the interior and do it up right only to race at the track. Otherwise F it! Its still safer than a bike.
BTW its never empty. The way is see it is it's non flammable so it may actually help stop a fire RIGHT.. Unless it explodes! Latly its been in the basement due to the heat and very high psi in the trunk.(nervous)

95sc what 8.5 slicks is he running. I'm looking at the 225 hoosiers. Any info on these tires.

Those Hoosier DOT cheater slicks look pretty good, they should be pretty light as well since they are only 225's...
