So I have a new project.

Not sure if I will be able to achieve the look from the calipers but this is what I did to my smartparts shocker, it was black

Hopefully it will turn out okay, I will also change the wheel color to a charcoal to have these stand out more

whats the process???

long as hell,

I started that with a 400 grit and then 400 wet and then 600 or something and then wet and so on until it was at about 1200 grit and shiny

That started black and was a total pain, took me about 2-4 days, I can't remember, but I love it and no one I know has one like it.

It could be for sale (gun) if anyone is interested. I shot it twice.

If it doesnt come out the way you want i know a place where you can get all four oem calipers brand new and powder coated for $550 shipped.

If they don't come up I'll just re paint them. I don't have the extra 550 right now and the next 550 is going to the door. then after that is a surprise for all of you :) I will be starting this tomorrow or Friday stick around for progress picks :)

Looks really good. I'm sure it's a lot of elbow-grease to get it there, though. The real challenge will be dealing with the calipers' angles, crevices, and overall rough casting to get it to gloss or polished finish.

Marker looks good.

Are you going to do the calipers by hand? There has to be an easier way.

I almost would bet that you could achieve that same shine with using a metal conditioning pad and a polishing tool. I'm a welder/grinder so I've got a decent idea on what's going on with all of that stuff lol.

I am sure I can get it to come up easier by starting with some different polishing techniques

But either way it will be some work.
