Hi, I want to change my rotors but I don't know what size the two bolts that hold the caliper bracket on are. I don't mean the 2 12mm bolts that attach the caliper to the bracket, I mean the 2 bolts that attach the bracket to the knuckle(?). One is exposed and I'm guessing is 15mm (I don't have a 15mm socket). The other one is kind of recessed in the knuckle and I need to know what size it is so I can get a socket that fits it.

Also, a mechanic suggested I should replace the hub and the tie rod end. Are these jobs any more difficult than replacing brakes and/or rotors?

Thanks in advance,
Randall

Both caliper bolts are 15mm.

Hub is 4 15mm bolts and comes out easily, tie rod is a bit harder since it deals with alignment. You need to mark where your current tie rod end its on the threaded steering rod. Then just tighten the new tie rod up to the same exact spot and your alignment shouldnt have to be redone.

i agree with all of this except, you should still get it aligned, alignment angles are measured to a hundredth of a degree, i fix "tape measure" alignments all the time, dont get me wrong you can get it close enough to be ok for a day of so but then i would still get it aligned. i wont touch any suspension work if they wont align it.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will do the hubs and tie rod ends too. I have a "lifetime alignment" deal from a national chain, I will just take it to them after I replace them and see how good they are.
