I picked up my heads and block from the machine shop yesterday. I took the cams off when I took it there, and they couldn't identify the intake and exhaust. So I went to the Ford Parts department to have them identified. The cams are stamped with Ford Engineering numbers which are cross referenced with part numbers. My heads are off of an 01 Continental. Once I got the part numbers, I asked them to look up the cams on an 01 Cobra. All of the cams have the same part numbers. Perfect upgrade.

I may be wrong, but I think the Cobra intake cams are great when combined with Aviator exhaust cams. Or something of the sort. Not that it would be a huge gain, but if they are out.....

Even with what I have now is an upgrade to the cams on the B heads. But yea, the cams on the Aviator and the Marauder are identical and would be an excellent upgrade as well.

All 03/04 DOHC heads including the Aviator and Maurader are nearly exactly the same as Mark VIII cams and you will not notice any gains. The 99/01 Cobra intake cams are more aggressive than the Mark VIII cams but not by much, the 96-98 Cobra cams are the most aggressive on the intake side out of any stock cams this side of the Ford GT. You can swap the 99/01 cams in but don't expect much.

I wish the Aviator intake would fit under the Mark VIII. THAT would be a nice upgrade :)

Maybe. Since I no longer have the Mark I am outta the loop. I had a 96 with 04 Aviator engine, but a Mach intake. I sold the Aviator intake for $400 I think, maybe $300. Forget.

The problem I keep finding is many differences between peoples postings of lift and duration. SVTP, Stangnet, Corral, LOD all have slightly different specs on the cams.

Seems the best bet for a B head would be the Mark exhaust and 96-98 Cobra intake cams to getthe most out of the dual intake runners and IMRCs. I guess the Mark cam is close to the 96-98 Cobras but not split pattern.

Really though I wouldnt put a C head intakle cam on a Mark motor unless it was bored/stroked or blown. Having more lift would not be great for a head that already flows too much volume but does not heve enough port velocity.

I think I'll just stick with the cams that came with my C heads, now that I have them properly identified. The will be just fine for what I am building.

All the specs are so close that I am sure average HP is within 1-2hp. Some will be better down low and some will be better up high. Im sure the motor will run well with any of them. A nice frsh Teksid DOHC motor is a wonderful thing. :)

Have you checked out if there are any cams specs on the modular fords site?

Where do they have the specs at on the LOD site? I don't think I have seen them there before.
