So boys...it's time to expand my Lincoln driveway to include one more. I'm set I'm buying an ls for sure just don't no what year and what the pros vs cons are per year...was looking at a 02 black non lsc v8 with 103km on it for around 8grand older man owned...just wondering what the big perks are for gen1 vs gen2? Would really help me out thanks guys!

I have an 02 LSE V6. I love my LSE the body kit looks awesome. I enjoy the piss out of the car espeically the SST. I have had to replace some of my coils and all of my window regulators. Also my clock spring is going out. I redid my brakes a few years back. Other then that I havent had a single issue (knock on wood). I only have 64K miles on it though

I wouldn't touch a gen1 with a million foot pole, but that's just me. Over 500 improvements made on the gen2 including the most important - more horsepower.

go with a gen 2 ive had 2 lincoln ls.. 1 gen 1 and 1 gen2. i like the gen 2 much better!

You want a slushbox or do you prefer to row your gears?

You only get to row your gears with a V6. A V6 (underpowered one at that) in a car this big is a total waste and a joke. There are two in the town I'm in. I don't even consider that they own the same car I do. I proudly have the only real LS around:cool:

Lincoln only built 2,331 V6 manual transmission; the V6 is adequate power depending on your needs.

With out a doubt it's going to be a v8...but 100km(Canadian) for 7900 isent bad. But I just wanted to know what the pros vs cons are if it's with 2000 to get a gen 2 with a navi system or not?

My vote is gen II. I did an extended test drive of a gen I and really didn't like it, so I passed on it. When the gen II came out, I got one and loved it. I still have it, but I just had to pick up one of the last 06s on the lot too.

Since I can't add anything insightful to this thread, I'll just say that GenII looks more modern.

More or less i wanted to know the common problems with gen 1 vs gen 2 v8's i know the problems with v6.
