Has anyone burned music CD's that work in a '98 Mark VIII CD changer ??? Having no luck getting them to play. After doing some searching seems I might need old 650MB discs or have to burn CD at 4X speed. Using new 80 minute Sony CD-R and burned at 8X but wouldn't play. Probably hard to find older density CD's and an app. that will burn as slow as 4X, maybe I dig up an old CD writer around here in the PC boneyard and find a real old copy of Nero or something from oldversions.com.

You burning them in .WAV format?

I burn with iTunes. Use new 80 min cd's, at max write speed. Have had zero issues...every cd in my changer are ones I burned.

they work in my 93 they should work in yours i just use windows media plaayer

you have to change your settings, they do not read data cd or mp3 cds, they have to be just audio what program are u using?

Burned them with Nero in WinBlows XP and k3B in Linux. They play fine in other car stereos (newer ones) have to try Media Player as much as I hate M$ software. At least I know it's being done and they will work. I'll geek around a bit more. Thanks.

As I said earlier, are you burning them in .WAV format? If not, they will not work. Many new players are MP3, MP4 etc capable, the Mark VIII players are not. Burn them in .WAV format and it will work fine.

Never had a problem with mine. The changer in my '96 crapped out years ago and I installed a factory CD head unit and play burned CD's all the time. I usually use Media Player or Nero to burn mine. The changer in my wife's '97 LSC works fine and every CD in there is a burned CD and no problems playing. I don't know about the .WAV format, I just burn mine with the settings configured for standard CD players. Works fine.

.WAV is the format of CD's in the store.
