Bubbling Chrome plate on Grill??!!

I have a 2004 LS. Just last week I noticed some strange lines on the factory grill of my LS. It looks like the chrome is starting to bubble up in what looks like wrinkle fashion. I have seen this on cheap toys but never on a vehicle. I live in So cal, so it isn't extreme cold causing it.

Is this a common problem? Geez, the LS is starting to make me nervous with all the minor pita type problems that are cropping up since I bought it last year. Hopefully it is covered under warranty, I would think so.

My '02 LS had the same thing on a corner piece of the chrome strip on the bumper. I know its been mentioned before but all the "chrome" the LS has isnt chrome. Its treated plastic. And just like you mentioned its capable of peeling, bubbling, chipping.
