Ugh so i was getting out of my car a little while ago and my door handle just totally breaks off. Does anyone happen to have a spare driver side door handle? haha, or does anyone know if any of the other door handles are the same as the drivers side?

this just happened to me! Firestone said 99 to replace with labor.

I had some guy tell me that the right rear passanger is the same as the driver side? I've been looking for either for less then 50 hopefully.

There are some on ebay but not for 50. Maybe craigslist look for a lincoln being parted out.

maybe the pieces are, but the drivers one is the only one with a keyhole.

Since he said he was getting out of the car when the handle broke I would bet he's talking about the inside handle. I've seen a lot of them on ebay.

yes for the inside which makes me wonder if its interchangeable with the others...hmm time to take apart my doors

I bough my car like that. I decided to buy new from the dealer $60-65 or so. I'll replace it when I get new speakers for my doors so I can get two birds with one stone.

I'll search but if anyone has a link for a how to I'd(we?) greatly appreciate it.

You can start by throwing out the taco bell sauce packets .

Ok.

I found what I was needing in the tech articles. I was just missing one screw behind the handle.

Bad news, the handle is riveted in place. I do not any any why to put a new one back in. I guess I'll just have to take this one in.

You don't need to use rivets. Bolt/nut/lockwasher. Done.

is there a better way to remove the rivets then drilling them out?

There are other ways, but I think that drilling them is the easiest.
Some auto stores may loan you the big rivet gun required to replace them, but I have used the bolt, lock washer, nut method without any problems before.
