brakes / Rotors

Did you use the shims, and anti-squeal stuff?

How is your cold braking?

Thanks for you observations.

I did use the shims that were supplied. No anti-squeal stuff, but that's next. I did use the stuff you spray onto the rotors themselves to quiet the noise, just to see what would happen, because I didn't feel like pulling the wheels and calipers. That seemed to help a lot, even though I only sprayed the outward side of the rotor. They still squeal from time to time, but it's far less now after I did that. Still can be better, especially with spring here and driving around with the windows open.

Cold braking is ok, I guess..? I do mostly "city" driving, so there's not a lot of high speed stops needed. Especially while cold.

Speaking of the occasional high speed stop - I notice that the rotors do hum a lot when trying to reign it in from high speeds...

Yeah, I live on the back roads so by the time I make my second stop or so they kinda warm up from just going through turns and all.

I am running EBC Red stuff pads and Baer Decela rotors, i love them and they didnt cost me a whole lot. i have pics on my profile of the brakes

My EBC sport slotted and dimpled rotors and Redstuff pads squeal like a mofo a year later. Seems to depend on the day. One day they're quiet, one day they do not stop squeaking while driving.
Same here and I hate them!!! I got them to get rid of the squealing since the stuff that was on the car was still atleast usable if not still good. For my wedding I actually had them turn the rotors down and reinstall everything to get it quiet again but about 3 months later it was back. They do stop well most of the time though.
