Hi guys,

been awhile since I posted here. However, been snooping around via the search and not really finding much.

Looking for new rear rotors and pads... And I might replace the front pads too.

Rear rotors have small cracks in them, and brakes are starting to squeel. Driving me up THE WALL.

IF price is right, I will replace front pads and or rotors aswel.

Front rotors are OEM autozones' and pads are BENDIXX Ceramic -- Pretty good, but noticing glazing?

Rear pad options:

Porterfield RS-4? -- Link me to correct ones
Or
Posi Quiet?

Others

Rotors -- Give me options for OEM replacement for rears. Ive been looking at the R1 Concepts E-line OEM ones.

And might do the Front E-line Slotted?

Options please. Sqeeling is driving me up the wall, and I can feel alot of brake fade.

Brembo makes good OEM replacements rotors. You can get them from tirerack.com cheaper than OEM Ford rotors. Also they have new Power Slot rotors now and they look good. The Hawk and the Akebono Euro pads are good I hear. Right now I just have Motorcraft pads, will be switching to something else when I need brakes.

Just looking for decent performance brakes that stop the car well, as of now while I break its like stopping a truck as it feels. -- I can feel the weight of the car in the peddle? and ofcourse the brake fade per say.

Performance / low dust would be great -- looking to spend $60 - 80 for pads, Rotors roughly same.

The SS brake lines are the best brake upgrade you can make for the dollar amount. I put drilled rotors with posi quiet ceramic pads on and it felt good, I put the ss lines on later and said WOW!!! That made the brakes wake up.

My biggest problem right now if just how to install the Stop Tech SS brake lines.....this is gonna be an awkward aftermarket upgrade :/

Go to the top of the page under TECH ARTICLES next to SEARCH and read Quik LS excellent how to article, it was very helpful for me, not a big deal.

+1

Buy at least a full quart of brake fluid and flush the whole system out.

I just got my r-1 concepts brakes from ups this morning,I will let you now how they work, will probaly do it this weekend .$150 for front rotors and ceremic pads.I think the rotors are Centric blanks that r-1 drills and slots and then zinc coats them. The Pads are Centrics

I have the R-1 premium drilled/slotted rotors with the SS lines and love them. I wouldn't recommend the Axxis Ultimate pads though due to the amount of dust but they stop great. I'm either going to get Hawk or Porterfield pads next time

Thanks for your input everyone

I got in touch with Rick at rotor pro's.. Cant pass up the deal specially after doing some research on the rotors they are. They are basically centrix blanks etc

For $230 I can get all 4 corners -- Drilled, dimpled and zinc'd including posi-quiet pads.

However, I opted to just get the front drilled, dimpled zinc'd and the rears be blanks, Save a few dollars. And no forget the pads included.

Cant pass that deal up. Opinions?

I would have done the rear the same. Its gunna look terrible unless you can deal with that.

I dont think It will look too bad, as I dont have any aftermarket wheels on the car.

I figured just to do blanks in the rear, and the drilled, dimpled and zinc'd up front as I see this setup alot on different cars.

Really?

I never saw them miss matched before.

Post pics when they are on.

Around town here in central Florida, See alot of the newer Mercedes and quite a few Jaguars with this setup.

You have any experience with the posi-quiet pads? As i was going to get the porterfields.

I got the EBC Red stuff. I like them so far. No issues to complain about. They stop great and I dont have much dust at all!

I have been considering for a while, any squeal, what are you using for rotors, I was considering OEM or EBC dimpled?

My EBC sport slotted and dimpled rotors and Redstuff pads squeal like a mofo a year later. Seems to depend on the day. One day they're quiet, one day they do not stop squeaking while driving.

I got both the EBC rotors ( drilled and slotted ) and those pads. Nothing but the common swishing grind but it goes away after driving for a bit but no squeal.

I got them cheap off of ebay and I often wonder about the rotors actually being EBC's. They rust easy, way easier than rotors are supposed to and they have a very dark color like older worn rotors. They looked great the day I got 'em.

Income tax time means easy money ( kind of anyway ) so I might jump on the package myself.

I plan on staying away from crossed drilled because of cracking issues.

How is your cold braking?

Thanks for your observations.

Did you use the shims, and anti-squeal stuff?
