I had a few hours to kill so I disassembled one of my spare brake pumps.
Has anyone here ever cleaned the orifices?
If so, what solution(s) did you use?

I see nobody has responded to your question in the past ten days.

I have never taken apart the brake pump in a MarkVII, but I've rebuilt plenty of brake systems over the years. Use denatured alcohol to flush out, clean and rinse off the parts. Then blow it all dry with compressed air and coat with fresh brake fluid for reassembly.

EyeLawDoc,
Thank you very much for the knowledge. Subscribe to this thread as I may need your assistance a little further down the line. Most of us that work on or own cars, prefer direct resources for OEM replacement o-rings and seals and gaskets. Your resources could help HUNDREDS of owners.

Since this is a spare unit, I'm in no hurry to complete the project. This allows me to take the TECH ARTICLE approach and record everything with text and pictures.
