i just changed my break pads the other, and the rear ones, i had no clue what i was doing. i took the whole caliber off, and i d/c the fluid line, and unplug the little rubber air seal thinking it was release the brake pads. boy was i wrong. well anyway, i finally figured out, i had the emerg brake on, and the pads came off. i install all 4 brakes fast, knowing what i was doing now. and ive drove for a few days, and now the emerg brake light is on, and fluid is slowly leaking, and it sqweeks a bit.

any advice? should i take it in, and get it bled, and re filled? would that fix the whole problem?

The emergency brake light is on because your brake fluid reservoir is probably empty. First off you need to fix the leak, its probably a loose hose (the one you disconnected) and needs be tightened up before you do ANYTHING else. Then you will have to bleed the ENTIRE system, since even you said, you have no clue what you're doing, find a friend who does, and get them to help. If you can't find someone who knows how to do it properly have the car TOWED to a shop. DO NOT DRIVE IT or you will LOSE the brakes!!!

Did you apply anti-squeal compound to the new pads before you installed them? If not, that will have to be done to get them to stop squeaking.

Cream - I landed 1:30am this morning and got your v-mails. I'll call you this morning.

u got the man to help you? there shall be no more problems then.

looks like the brakeline wasn't tighten enough for the crush washer to make a good seal - all is well.

Give the new pads a few days before worrying about squeals...
