Bought a 2005 ls v8 at an auction

Bought it at an auction and im looking to get it running.

Whenever I put it too the floor it wont break 2000 rpms and seems to idle rough.

Also the parking break light stays on even if its off

Rough idle and weak rpm can either be a bad IAC, bad cops, vacuum leak. Pull the coils and check for oil in the holes. If any oil is in there, replace the valve cover gasket. There is a tech-article on it here. Also clean your MAF and check for cracked hoses.

No IAC on the 2003-2006 LSes. There is a 3K rev limiter in "P" and "N". Probably needs new coils and plugs.

Check the button for the parking brake and the mechanism all the way to the rear brakes.

Give it a tune up and it can't break much past 2000 if your coils and plugs are junk and 3000 due to to a rev limiter.

Do yourself a favor and go read up on the website, you will fix most your problems by doing that.

how many miles?
did you check it for codes?
and i have seen decent ls's listed for next to nothing. they probably needed coils and cleaned up. didnt feel like driving 100mi to get it tho. i bet you will make out like a bandit if you can turn a wrench
