i read the tech article, but i fell like i might be allowing some air,

when it says,

4. Add coolant to the degas bottle allowing the system to equalize until no more coolant can be added.

does that mean fill degas bottle pass the cold fill max mark?

and

11. Allow the engine to idle for five minutes, add coolant to the degas bottle as needed to maintain the cold fill MAX mark

is that ok to do, after letting the engine idle and build up pressure ? will it blow out the cover?

i replaced my thermostat housing, now i have no leaks, just overheating, i think due to the bleeding process, im waiting for the engine to cool down again

thanks:L

No, since you don't know when the system will be fully burped, and you might end up with a full degauss bottle. Just keep adding little amounts of coolant to it, and try to keep it around the full mark till properly burped.

What cover? You're idling the engine with the degauss bottle cap off. You may have a little coolant "blow out" as air is expelled, but it's negligible and nothing a quick spray with a garden hose won't clean up.

thanks, i was bleeding with the degas cover on, i have to wait till it cools down

Need to correct myself. Forgot about the bleeder valve on the LS. Put the cap on while idling the car for the 5 minutes, and leave the bleeder valve open. Then, remove the degauss bottle cap to add more coolant, replace cap, etc, while keeping the bleeder valve open. The cap won't blow off, since all the air pressure is escaping through the bleed valve... the reason it's open in the first place.

haha, i thought so, because #6. Replace the degas bottle cap.

, but i understand it alittle more now, the air pressure gets trapped at the top of the system, and the bleeder valve lets the air out
