Blackout Trim...the easy way

Looks great. The lower chrome looks cool I think, some of the new Mercedeses have em like that.

Different strokes for different folks.

Chrome gives the car a more luxury look, some people like that pimp, luxury look. Just don't put whitewalls on it or anything like that ;)

NO chrome gives a more sportier look, sports cars usually don't sport too much chrome unless it's on the wheels. The LSE is a prime example of a "sporty" looking LS.

I personally prefer the sporty look. When I was looking for an LS, I specifically wanted the sport package so that it didn't have the chrome on the bumpers.

This is what's nice about the LS....you can make it either way you prefer :)
 
I did this on my grand prix. the bad thing is rocks and stuff will tear tiny holes in the pinstriping. You will probably ahve to replace a few strips every 6 months or so

I could see that on the front of the car easily, nothing is safe in front. On the sides I'm not to concerned and don't think it'll happen to often.

I like it a lot.My dad told me that i gave it a new sport look since sport cars dont have too much or any chrome.My windows are tinted 35%

My next step is to paint the rear license plate surrond in my color...so the only chrome pieces that would be left are the grille and the bottom of the windows :)

Glad you dig it. I asked about the windows as I'm doing mine soon and I think it'll make the mod stand out more. Mines a LSE so the chrome below the windows and my Foose 20s are my only chrome. I put in the 04up LSE grill also, but with black insert to be different.

Nice!! and yes the tint make the mod stand out a lot it looks like it was born there.

Q: Did the 00 LS V6 bring black our chrome window moldings??

As far as I know all 00-02 models had the chrome around the window, sport and non-sport. Sometime after 03 the chrome went away, I'm not sure what year.
 
I just recently washed my car and it didnt peel off or any other worries.Il let you know during the time period of tommorrow no later than monday
 
Finally did the other side last night.

The first side is holding up fine as I expected. Its been raining here more then not, I've washed it the other day, looks as good as the day I put it on.

Like the look too.
 
I did mine too. Top piece and Bottom piece.

Now the only chrome left, are the badges on the tail lights. I also painted my license plate body color. Looks good!

will post pics once i eventually clean her up.

What size striping did you use for the bottom? Did it fit ok or did you have to trim the width?
