its listed as a lsc.. its got chromeless molding and bumpers... but the seller says the headlights were changed from HID's to regular lenses...and the seats are NOT perforated..plus the front bags were converted to shocks..

my guess is it took a front end hit... but i dunno why the seats are different.. unless it also had flood damage..

dunno... either way it just doesnt seem like a safe buy to me

The seats look perforated to me, but its hard to tell but when I tilt my LCD back it looks like they are. Did you ask him?

As for changing to non HID, probably because HID bulbs are NA and with a Gen one you at least have an option to get halogen housings!

I think it looks sharp. Except the damn wheels are on wrong! :)

As long as they are going in the same direction, and the tires aren't direction, then I consider it to be fine.

i did ask him.... i first asked for a close up picture of the headlights and for the color code on the door jam.. he didnt reply

then i asked him to simply answer if they were hid's and were the seats perforated.... he said the headlights have been changed... and the seats were not perforated..

and as for the wheels being on wrong.. i also hate to see that.. it just annoys me for some strange reason

That VIN break down shows all 93-96 Marks as base models, It only shows 97-98 as LSC. The car looks clean to me.

Bastard.... Well, does it have and LSC badge? I bet not, that would be the nail in the coffin.

Normally I would not care - but he is selling it as an LSC (you said he converted from HID, etc...) so he must know what an LSC is versus base.

BUT, its still a sharp car! :)

yes that example does show as a base.. but it says the lsc models would be a 92 instead of a 91 in section 4 of the example.. HIS VIN is showing base model also..

i agree.. it is a clean ,sharp car.... i just think its a little fishy that its a lsc...and evrything about the car (except the molding) says otherwise

plus...the VIN came up on carfax.. as a lsc/diamond anniv. ( which a lot of non lsc's come up as also).. but when i took a look at the VIN.. and compared it using the VIN breakdown http://www.mark8.00freehost.com/VINdecode.html.. according to this its a base model.. not an lsc

Carfax will also list many Mark VIII's standard Mark VIII's as an LSC. My 95 was originally listed as an LSC. When I questioned the dealer he said well that's what all his data said. Well.. it wasn't an LSC. But then again... I really couldn't have cared. Car was in great shape and I got it at a great price.

Here's how mine was listed on carfax:

Good News -- Vehicle qualifies for the CARFAX Buyback Guarantee! No severe problems (major accidents, fire, flood damage, major odometer problems or lemon history) were ever reported by a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for this 1995 LINCOLN MARK VIII/LSC

1st gen LSC cars do not show 92 in the vin. All 96 LSC have 91 in the number. I have one.

Car looks to be a clean example on an LSC. Guys doesn't know what perforated seats are. Many don't. Headlights were replaced because the bulbs went out, and he didn't want to spend $1600 to replace them (dealer quote to replace both housings/ballasts, since they were sold as an assy).

Sounds correct to me.

I'm not going to bid, I'm going to continue to build a new Mark VIII one piece at a time through Max and Rockauto.

im definitely not bidding... too much non-lsc stuff on it... im looking for a full factory lsc....

Guys doesn't know what perforated seats are.

i asked him.. and i quote.. " are the seats perforated ( tiny little holes in the center sections of the seat bottoms and backs )"

his reply was.. " solid leather.. not perforated "

either way.. its clean but im looking for one with hid's and full air ride.. etc..

Just be patient, You will find one! Why don't you like the one you have now? It looks good!

Well ya, everyone knows the Mark V111s are all LSCs, its the Mark VIIIs that come in base or LSC :)
