Had back brakes put on months ago. When i left something had to be stuck or wrong because the cars brakes were locking up so bad that smoke was coming out. It stopped after a few miles but ever since then when i hit bumps or corner hard the car was slow down real quick like i tapped the brakes. To make this even stranger, when I have four people in the car, the car drives horrible. So bad to the point where im at a red light with the foot off the pedal and the car doesnt inch at all forward. Ive asked the Jag techs and they have no idea.

So you never took it back to them and told them that they messed up?
 
Did they reset that one piston on the rear brakes properly? I have no idea how they would even get the new brakes on with it not reset, but you never know. Also, that thing has an electronic ebrake. Anything wrong with that?
 
The guy that did it is a Jag tech and he said after i brought it in the wheel spun fine without hangup when it was on the lift. The e-brake could be the problem because honestly i dont know where to start.
 
How did he test it? He should've taken it for a drive since that's when you notice it.
 
Take it back and tell him to fix his mistake, if the E-brake fails you'll get a message on the dash stating its dicked up.
 
only problem i had like that was when i got the rotors on they were painted black so when i started to drive the paint melted and was causing the brakes to stick and it would make a horrible sound like the car was dying....had to sand the paint off the brakes and rotors and after that it was like new...

It really sounds like the Emergency/Parking brake cable(s) are caught up on something. They must have miss-routed them. That would explain why it worked up on the lift, and why it gets worse as you add more weight to the rear.
 
Now I know Im probably gonna be corrected here but, Joe, if the LS uses an Electric E-brake system wouldnt that rule out cables? Not sure how the system works.
 
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the cables are still mechanical. The only way the car knows if the parking brake is on is by the handle leaving it's position. They still need to have the parking brake if the electrical system fails..

The system has mechanical cables to the rear brake calipers, just like the gen I LS. The only difference is at the other end of the cable. Instead of connecting to the pull lever, it connects to an assembly with an electric motor that pulls the cable for you.

Yes, there are still cables, but there is no way to pull them if the electrical system fails. There is no handle, only a small switch, similar to the gen I window switches.
Of course (and this might be what you meant), if the parking brake is applied before the electrical system fails, then the parking brake will stay applied until the electrical system is restored. It's just like a power window, it stays where it is until power is applied in one direction or the other.

If you take it back now they will be able to look at the rear brakes and see the wear from the brake being applied while the vehicle was moving. It should be plainly obvious that there is something wrong. From there they can figure out the issue.
 
Take the brakes apart and check them out push the pedal and make sure the calipers aren't frozen then put them back together. It sounds like a frozen caliper or one of your pads aren't in properly possibly crooked not laying flat on the rotor so it's jamming up!
