Best way to take off stripped crossover tube cap?

if its the 1/4 in. drive square in the center thats stripped, you can 1 weld a nut onto it and back it off.. (make sure to replace o-ring.) or 2.. try some channelocks/water pump pliars.

Does the coolant crossover cap use the same 1/4 inch drive as the gen 1 intake tube bolt?

Using vise grips, for taking the cross over tube cap off is what i will be attempting tomorrow mornning. Hopefully it doesnt under good too much damage. a new one is probly gonna have to be put on anyways im sure.

Couple attempts with a couple pairs of different vise grips, finally got it to spin off! Pretty happy it came off that easy, and not damaging the cap really other than a couple teeth marks. Getting a new o-ring, and then i should be ready to get back towork! Thanks for the help!

I would heat the tube around the cap with a propane torch, then apply some pb blaster or similar product, a hammer to tap on the cap to vibrate the fluid into the threads and then I would use a 'pipe' wrench on the knurled edge of the cap so you apply more torque to the cap as you are turning. Piece of cake.

got my rad changed as with the t-stat , thanks for all help with this. After following the fill procedures took the car for a 20 minute ride around. Temp reading was sitting at 'A' for most of the ride, it made its way up to the 'M' for a lil then, headed back down to 'A'. Is this a normal thing to happen. Before i changed the rad, the temp would rise to 'M' a lot quick then it did during my 20 ride around. Any thoughts?
