Best way to scrap the car

Well it's been a long time since I've read these forums. About a year ago I bought an Infiniti M45 sport. I kept my '01 LS V8 sport but it has seen very limited duty in that time. An old friend came to visit for a week, and I let her use the LS while she was in town.

She must have fallen asleep at the wheel. (See pic) Fortunately nobody was hurt, the damage was from the guardrail.

I dropped the collision on the LS when I got the new car, so I'm going to eat this one. Anyway here's the question.. Will somebody buy this for parts, or should I just have it junked? My options are to tow it back to my place and find somebody to buy it (I'm not too interested in parting it out myself), or have the towing place junk it (no cost). The car is in Fairfield, CT if anyone is interested.

I would sell it whole for just motor and trans for 1500- 1000 bucks if you can't part out. Someone that wants just a motor will pay that then they will sell trans and rest so they get motor cheap. Someone will snap that up trust me. Also I would make that chic pay.
 
Could always try Ebay or Craigslist. I would think someone would want it for the engine, trans., interior etc...
 
I say part it out yourself, you will make something back on it I'm sure. I would be interested in the center console, just as long as its not the flip up style that I have now. You can sell the wheels also, I'm sure someone on here would be interested.
 
parting it out takes time and effort but should almost definitely net you a good chunk of change! I have payed for mods by buying stuff people wont part out and selling off the parts I dont need.
 
As I have said in other posts. . .

Dibs on the advancetrac module and alternator! Oh, wait, this gives me a good idea for my sig.
 
in my opinion, collect the 7000 or so that the car was worth from this friend of yours, sign the title over to her, and let her part it out.
 
Is your friend gonna pay you for the damages? You should of known better than to let ANYONE drive your car unless it's a 500 dollar piece of crap like a KIA.......that's just like Gipp's deal with leaving the car unlocked and the keys in the car overnight......it doesn't take much to see the logic....

Ahhh, its nice to be alive :D

But yes, it took only a couple of weeks to strip the car, cut it up, bury the frame and place all the parts in boxes. I hit the forums and things sold fairly quickly. I sold everything down to all the nuts in bolts to the entire car!

Oh dibs on V-8 Intake!! :D
 
WOW. That neon is :q:q:q:qed up!

To the OP: there is still much of value in that LS. Tow it home and part it out. If you dont want to mess with that; leave it at the shop and let them deal with it. Doesn't seem like too hard of a choice to me.

i dont care how hot the girl is...if she wrecked my car she better grab her purse.

but then again i dont think youd find a girl driving any car of mine (probably wouldnt find any other guy driving it for that matter either).
 
I know that everyone isn't being very serious here, but...

The older you get, the more you realize that people and friendship are a lot more important than things and money.

And this one was literally taken 15 minutes before the wreck :( :( Some of the mods were, Mopar Stage 3 with High Octane mode, Methanol injection, Mopar intake, mopar exhaust, mopar stg 2 coilovers, etc. etc. etc. 370whp.

That is true AND its really hard to get money from people when it was your ass lending out your car without full coverage. It's best just to chalk it up to bad luck and play the nice guy "well sh$t happens" roll. :cool: That's what a "baller" would do.
 
It's funny you should mention it. The girl is my former roommate, since moved to Cali, back here visiting friends and family for a few weeks. She works as a stripper. She always paid her share of the rent in a wad of $20's. So I have some ideas how she could work it off.

I don't think the car was worth more than $3-4k. It had 107000 miles, needed a valve cover gasket + 1 or 2 ignition coils, a knuckle assembly thing, shocks, and a window motor. The driver side mirror had been knocked off and was held on by tape at the time of the accident. The center brake light didn't work right, but the bulb and fuse were fine. Never could figure that one out.
 
of course i am not saying go to this friend patting your hand before even checking if she is ok...im not. and i agree with you that money is far from the most important thing in life.

but if i were in the situation where i crashed a friends car (especially without insurance), i wouldnt want my friend to lose out because of my accident (especially because he or she was kind enough to let me use the car).

Hold up... HER insurance should cover the car, not yours. There's a clause in there for that.

Otherwise I'd be telling her to grab her purse... AND her ankles!

Lol I couldn't pass that up. But you are right, way more important things out there than 'things' and money. But principal is principal.
 
wtf? how did you all let the stripper thing just go by? is she one of those B squad strippers or is she smokin!!!!!!!! I think we need pics of her to better assist you!
