best amp?

From skimming the description, it appears you need an amp that puts out 600 watts rms @ 2 ohms.

MB Quart is a pretty good brand from what I've heard. Also, dj seems to be somewhat of the LS audiophile so I'm guessing he thinks it's good too.

mb quart is an excellent brand in the car audio world as far as amps go. the company who makes them is maxxsonics. they also make hifonics and crunch. so the order is like this....crunch for beginner stuff.....hifonics for the medium grade and mb quart for the high grade stuff. i have yet to see just onebrand that can say it dominates in every type of audio equipment. jl audio makes great subwoofers. amps? not so much, since the price/performance ratio is crazy. orion makes great subs and amps...components and full range speakers...not so much. there are def different brands for diff people but you should always find equipment that not only appeals to you but also performs at a decent level for a great price. i tend to stay away from the bigger names in car audio like the type that you will find at best buy or circuit city (when they were around) unless its for things like headunits. most of the best buy stuff is junk unless its their flagship models like mtx 9500 or pioneer premier components and alpine double din headunits.

thanks dj, i have an alpine single din head unit, i'm going to buy polk speakers, the jl audio subs in that link and as long as that amp will work i'm probably going to buy that one

go with a kicker amp they are great but if you really want power and a good protect go with the brand matz they are a a few bucks but worth every buck

Hey dj, how do you think kole amps are, been thinking about getting one

i wouldn't, if your gonna spend the money on an amp, make sure to get a good one, this is one area that you really dont want to skimp on.

In reference to the MB Quart amp, does it do rated @ 1 ohm?

1 ohm: 1000 watts x 1 chan. that right off the website, also whats the difference betweek AB Monoblock amps and a Class D Monoblock amp?

That's what they claim. I'm asking if the amp actually puts out that much.

For example, my Kenwood 9104d says on the box: 900rms x 1 @ 2 ohm. When tested, it only put out 644 or something like that. That 9104d also said it was capable of a 1 ohm load... a blatant lie. I don't know anyone who has been able to get one to run at 1 ohm without blowing a fuse.

oh then i dont know lol, but from what it sounds like, that MB amp is the one i'm gonna go with

also whats the difference betweek AB Monoblock amps and a Class D Monoblock amp?

class A/B usually have better sound quality, class D are usually more efficient.

a blatant lie. I don't know anyone who has been able to get one to run at 1 ohm without blowing a fuse.

i have had so many of those come through here with that problem, its not funny. the calls to kenny's tech support where a joke "well it says that its 1ohm in the manual"

i even tried to put the max sized fuses i could in our display and the f"er still blew.

i'm sure that it was just a mis-type in the manual.

And a misprint on the fecking box it came in too. In fact, they make it a point to emphasize it as a feature. Oh well, that amp and my Directed SX12D4 will be going to my brother.
