Belts Diagram... 97' Mark...

I put up a thread about my PowerSteering going out... well it was too dark and too late for me to want to look at it at the moment... I went out today... holy crap the belt was shredded!!... I mean bad!!... had to take a wire cutter to get most of it out...

Alright... I looked at the pullies and the idler pully looks alright but the tensioner one has a little play in it so I'm gonna change them both... looks pretty simple... at least I hope so... but how's the belt go?... I kinda have an idea... but just want to make sure... it's not really something I should be guessing on... thanks for all the help... you guys are a great help!!

If they spin free they may not be the problem though. Maybe the belt just happened to go? Did you have it at the shop recently? Maybe they put it on wrong...
 
No it's kinda funny... I was thinkin of changing them anyways cause they've been squeaking a lot lately... I was actually gonna do that yesterday... ironic huh?... the belt looked fine but I didn't check the whole thing... and I did do a little work on the car Friday... which made it run A LOT smoother... pretty much what I did was go through and regap all the plugs and cleaned the IAC valve... holy crap did it change... smoother idle... more power... so I'm thinkin it might've been too much for it... cause it launched a lot harder than it ever had before... it was crazy... my friend was amazed!... but yeah till the next light came up and I lost everything... I think I'm gonna change the pullies just be on the safe side... might as well since I'm changing the belt
 
It is... but I didn't know that when I asked... but yeah it was easier having it in hand anyways...
