is it common for the belt tensioners on marks to become loose??..

a buddy of mine has a mark and i can move his tensioner with my hand.. its not easy but it does move... is this normal??..

ive noticed he gets a little belt slap when he starts up.. is this the result of the tensioner or is this a normal thing??..

it looks like 3 bolts to replace it.. let me know if im wrong before i tell him to get a new one

Yep they do go bad, Spring steel looses its springyness after a while.

The tensioner on my vic is going bad and the belt squeels on full throtle upshifts.

On a CV theyll do that with brand new tensiones and belts. Use a gatorback it'll stop that.

i know that all crown vics do it a little, but mine is bad. I cansee the tensioner move when I rev the engine.
