Belt tensioner and Idler Pullies

Parts came in today, replaced them both very easily, I did it while the engine was still hot, no bolt problems at all. The squeaking is gone completely. My old pulleys were in bad shape, they'd spin on my finger for over a minute on a good spin, the new ones were fine. Thanks Max!

Gatorback Belt

OK, I am now a believer in the Gatorback belts. Never used one before, cause I sold Gates and Dayco for 20 yrs. I had replaced the pulleys on my 93, but had a bad squeak as it warmed up. Belt looked ok, but I replaced it with a Gatorback belt and NO squeak at all now. :D

That's similar to the previous post that said to buy your tensioner & puley from the cheapest source. They have never seen the new tensioners that Max has to offer. The units from FOMOCO are far superior in construction.

I wonder if the Continental IP and tensioner are the same... i see so many of these in the junkyard with low miles.

Glad you went with Max. Good OEM parts and if you compare the belt from Max to the aftermarket belts you will see a big difference like I did.

I had replace my belt and pulley on my 95 this past spring with aftermarket pulleys from a local shop (Not Autozone $hit) and gates belt. Then thought I should do the same with my 94 and ordered my parts from Max. Price less from Max and the quality was a lot better.

If only my front end will be as easy as that! I'm out on the laptop now waiting for tools to be dropped off as I'm replacing the

Uppers
Lowers
Inner and outer tierods
Strut rod bushings
and my swaybar endlinks if they ever come in wtf. I'll be posting progress/problems in the other thread

Front end is not too bad, but it helps to have another set of hands around. I did mine in a afternoon.

Thank you guys for all the kind words and the parts purchases. There is something to be said about the saying..."cheaper is not always better". Those guys have to be cutting corners on something to lower the price. But their warrenty is longer...if you want to replace it over and over again.
OE parts rule!!

Thank you again!!
Max
