right now I have my ls's front end basically stripped, The fan, alternator, fan & ps pump as well as all the covers are removed. While it's not to say things are much easier to work on it helped a lot.

what else should be taken care of/looked at before I re-assemble? I don't want to get back in there for a bit if I don't have to. The car has 65k miles but sat around a lot.

got the sway bar bushings out too ;)

Looks like you have a 2001 LS V8 Sport...

All Idler Pulleys and Belt Tensioner.

Thanks, I got the serpentine belt didnt think I would need to replace the pulley yet.

Change your dccv (dual climate control valve) while you're in there. Its alot easier to replace with the fan out of the way

Thanks, I was meaning to read up on that being I've heard it mentioned so much on here.

In case not already done (too lazy to really read the other thread), I'd do all the hoses you can find, the crossover tube and the t-stat housing (tree, cap and t-stat cover). Note that you can get the alum Jag version from Rock Auto.
You don't need the accessories off, but I would go ahead and clean the throttle body and EGR.
Take a close look at the rack to make sure it's not leaking.
