Back in January/Feb I traded my LS for an 07 Sport Trac V8 (got lucky and got 8k for trade in), ended being my wife's car which btw, is a pretty fast truck, shares the 3v with the new stang. I then fell in love with an 04 Screaming yellow GT with only 18k miles. Picked it up, went straight to the stang shop and dropped 3 grands on it. 2 days later, 4.10's, bbk LT, O/R H pipe and magnaflows, steeda UD pulleys, K&N CAI, autolite 103, Diablo dyno tune to come down with 275 RWHP and 307 RWTQ. Trapped the 1/4 at 13.6, then went with nitto 555r's to do a best of 12.9 N/A. One tech guy at the track said that there must have been something done to the car internally because it was putting down good numbers at the track, and he offered to check it out. We take it to his shop and 7 hours later we find a set of Patriot heads on my block!!! that brought us to the conclusion that it should be putting down better numbers on the dyno than before, and he was right. The tune I got before was jus a pre-set that the other shop uses based on the mods they do, not really "custom tuning" so he re-tunes the beast to bring out 312 RWHP and 339 RWTQ! Can you believe that crap? why do some shops do that? Anyhow, as I'm driving the other night to the track to test my new tune, I see a blue LS coming from behind and for some reason I got chills! It was my old LS!!! The feeling was just overwhelming and I waved at the guy hello, however he thought I was calling a race and he was just a dick so he revs and I knew that was my old sound (magnaflows on the LS) and the light turns green and I take off with him, you know, just hanging with him until I think it's enough, but we get to another light and stop. He yells at me "you ain't got nothing on me", I replied, Dude, that was my car, I know I got it all on you. His face was just twisted and confused, light turns green and I took off like a dog, OMG, he tried but I had pulled about 7 cars on him. Just a good feeling and good memories at the same time. Anyway, my numbers that night only dropped to a best of 12.7, not much better than the last, but the tune def worked better that time and since then I installed a set of VT stage 2 cams, the Mustang is just a whole different game from the LS. Soon will swap to 3.73 and bolt on the pro charger at 10 psi, will be a little fast yellow thing...Just wanted to share this long ass story with you. And it's really sad to see some kids ruining what's left of the LS. LS with 22" and some weird looking color combos with chrome and sh1t that looks like a Philippine bus, please keep the LS looking clean.

i enjoyed the story, crazy that you saw your own LS. its funny that the guy thought he would "tale you" in the stang. Obviosuly he isnt very smart. I ove teh sound of the new mustangs too, always said that woudl be the car i buy if something should happen to the LS.

[whatever]same posts I put on the civic boards - never owned one but love to remind them they are slow[/whatever]

Your qtr mile time is great for your power. You must be getting it to the ground well! My 89 Iroc-z Camaro I sold this year had 440hp and 450ft/lbs at the rear wheels. I could only pull 12.2s with street tires. Granted with slicks it would have been deep in the 11s, but still. 12.7s are awsome.
In fact, my stock 05 GTO put 360/370 at the rears and could only do 12.99

I got Tokico upgrades for struts on both ends, full sub-frame connectors and with the drags heated real well, it hooks really good. I miss the comfort of the LS, but power makes up all of it. When I owned the LS I thought I had a fast car being V8 and all, then I start reading about quick with his project and another guy spraying, got excited for a minute. Then realized that the LS is not a fast car, stock numbers make it look a lot slower than they feel and it would be too much money/hassle to even drop a tenth at the track, so why bother... I admire the project with the supercharger but look at how long it's taken and is not even done yet. It will take me 8 hours or so to drop in a procharger and I'll be blowing 450+ to the pavement. I'm sure that Lou is setting a standard and opening new doors to the LS performance, but I just went the old way, the Mustang way. Not looking for trouble, I'm just being realistic and I hope you'll understand my point. I'm not crazy to say that the chevy guys suck just because I own a Ford, like many claim victory over TA and LS1 camaros, my respect to the LSx platforms, they rock, but in reality, the LS is a mid-size, semi-luxury sedan. I've never seen a real luxury sedan go out of production, having said that, hats off to the LS for many years of joy (and headaches) it gave me. Shame on Lincoln for putting it to sleep.

If your happy with your Mustang - good for you - the LS was never going to be that - nor is a mustang evar going to compete with an LS on what the LS is good at - right?

These are not likely the last upgrades you are doing to your Mustang - right? - so people that mod, are never really done.... remember that...

I'm totally with you and I'm not arguing. Your best at one point was 13.9 at 109mph or so and you had over 10k in add-ons... I've spent 3k so far (not counting the heads in it) and I'm 1 full second faster, what would it be with 10 psi of boost? again, congrats to you on your project and I know you'll succeed all the way, I'm just happy with my car, happy I made the change because with 10K of add-ons I can build a forged engine to put down 1000 hp with a TT set up. All I'm saying is the fact that everyone here has made at one point, the LS is not a drag or fast car, you're making it fast, but it's not purpose built. How much HP can the LS handle before it spits out it's organs? Now I realize how foolish I was on the LS trying to race and prove a point. The same EVO that beat my ass on the LS now gets his ass handed to him all the time by the Stang, same thing with my cousin's stage 2 SRT-4. I had exhaust, CAI and X-cal on the LS, it's just not the same. But I guess that's not an argument here...

I drive a Saleen S281 with over 450HP at the wheels. Yes it can beat my LS, big deal. Am I supposed to be proud of that???

BTW, I never drove the stang completely stock, SO FORGIVE ME if I'm generalizing all GT's as being fast. I drove mine from the dealer to the shop. How slow are they in stock form? Couldn't tell you, even out of the dealer I had PI heads and I didn't know about it, maybe that's why I fell in love with it during test drive... I just know that I hang out with 03-04 terminators up to certain speeds, my 4.10's kill the top end.
Enjoy your LS, don't kill it.

what year?
the new S281 come with 325 at the crank and the SC with only 400...

I'm not calling out who beats what. This was about how happy I felt of seeing my old LS, it turned into a slap in his face but that was it.

I dont come on a LS board and tell people I can kill their LS's with my Mustang, DUH!!! thats a given.

ok got ya. my S281 is a 2002 with a few mods. It is supercharged.

All 99-04 Mustang had PI heads. Patriots are different.

I've raced several 99-04 Mustangs at the track and the only one feeling weak at the end of the track was the Mustangs. People expect the Mustang to kill the 4 door Lincoln. Doesn't always happen.

Me against a 04GT 5-speed. Really killed me hey?

I'm sorry, but as a previous LS owner, I can come here and post my comments. Many times I opened up my LS engine to figure out what I could do with. I had problems with the car like everybody else in here, from misfires to windows dropping down and the bath of oil in the coils, I was here and there. Again, didn't come in here to start a fight. Sorry for that, I didn't come here to post kill stories or anything like that, it's more of the ignorant and foolish attitude that the kid driving my ex-LS had on it. Just like many of you who think you drive the Sh!t around and you can take on anybody and have the best of the best. I didn't want to go this way, but that's what is all about. The attitude of some LS owners, mainly youngsters that bring up the "kill stories" thinking they're invincible.

I own several cars - most modded past street legal and all faster than my LS.

What's your point?

If you posted - I bought a Mustang and here what I did to it - We would all say congratualtions.

But instead you added the the editorial about the LS - so now people are telling you - "really - did you just wake up?"

It's like some kid on the BMW forums saying - "I just bought a mustang and after a couple of days and a few $K I am sooo much faster than your BMWs... it is so sad to see people wasying their time trying to make BMWs fast..."

Goof.

You are right, and I'm sorry I came across like that. Maybe I did over write the whole thing. Sorry about that guys.

Don't call me a lier.

Pretty easy to tell a manual from a auto, unknown mods. His best was 14.1 for the day.

Also have some slips against a 99 with exhaust and CAI. Also a manual. Beat him several times with RT and us both running 14.5s. He did manage a 14.3 later not against me.

Your point was your Mustang is some sort of super car. With the mods it has it should run strong.

I have under $1200 in mods in my LS and run close to 99-04 GTs like it or not.

At the track plenty of people comment on how surprized the were to see me next to them at the end of the track. Several 99-04 Mustang drivers.

If you don't like the feedback your getting...go back and read some of your first posts.
