Battle scars

Just as a follow up to my earlier post. I called the local Dent Wizard guy this morning. His business is mobile so he met me in the parking lot of a local mall (he would come to my house but I was headed to the mall anyway). 30 minutes and $75 later he removed a ding in my passanger side door and a rock dent on the hood. The paint was not affected and you can't see or feel where the dints/dings were. I was blown away at how clean the repair work was. Does anyone else have experience (good or bad) with the Dent Wizard franchise?

Hi VA did you watch how the repair was done. I will be calling to make an apointment soon. Good Luck

Hi VA did you watch how the repair was done.

Yes, i stood right behind him and watched. He has a set of tools on long thin flat rods. For the door fix, he rolled the window down and placed the rod through that opening to get behind the ding and put pressure on it and work as much from the rear as he could. He then has a small rubber mallet and plastic tool (that looks almost like a pointed nail set) that he used to softly hammer the edges of what was left of the ding until it rounded back out to the original curve of the door. he also has a mirror like device that he places on the opposite side of the ding from where is working that helps him view another angle tof he shape of the area. The mirror has black lines on it that reflected off the work area that also gave him some sort of visual assistance besides just eyeballing the paint.

For the rock ding he opened the hood and inserted his pressure tools through one of the holes on the inside of the hood and worked the ding the same way as the door. for a thumb nail size ding it took about 10 minutes.

I found out that he contracts to local dealers to work dings out on their used vehicles (probably new ones too but they would never tell you about that!)

Hope it works for you REDBED. I plan to have him work my other cars too.

Thanks for the tip, Chief. I'm gonna have to track down a local Dent Wizard for the one I've got on my rear driver-side door.

This posting got me motivated to try out the Dent Wizard. I've put it off for weeks but since we were discussing dints and dings I figured it was time to see if they are as good as they say on their web-site. The one I hired was. The second and third picture in Pektel posted earlier are almost exactly what I had fixed today.

See that, Pek? You might want to try to find a local source to see if he can fix yours. Your baby is too beautiful to leave that scar there!!

Man, that'd be nice. I only checked one PDR place. Actually it was a body shop that the pdr chick visits once a week. She told me since it's on a body line, she couldn't do it.

Maybe I should just try someone else.

I hadn't thought about it but on a line might be a problem because the PDR guy is basically poping the dent back out. Hope you can find someone that can do it.

it seems like every time i wash the car i find something new that pisses me off.. like everyone else..

its a shame you cant have anything in the city without some careless person completely destroying your car.

my ls is in dire need of a makeover.

- dead bug etchings on the front bumper
- very light rock chips on the hood
- rear driver side brake lens is cracked on its bottom, and the upper part of the bumper where its at has been damaged.. like a heavy piece of rod or machinery struck it causing a gash in the top bumper next to the crack.
- the driver side door pillar is bent in like someone tried to break in
- a long deep scratch on the top of a door (ive temp filled in with some black paint)
- driver side lower door has been smashed like someone kicked it or drove a basket into it. two very hard creases. I doubt a dent doctor can fix it.
- a ding on a back panel (can be fixed) (found this last week) :/
- rear pass side bumper quarter panel area looks like someone bumped into it causing a burn off the paint and cracking of the paint... its not bad just visible very up close

this is why i park FAR FAR away from people now..

ive just had enough of owning a nice car in the city. my next car is gonna be a POS. Dont get me started on insurance. I make a claim i get punished, i want it repaired, $600 out of pocket, full coverage is a joke.

Same here!

Over the last 4 months alone my body went from virtually flawless to all f*cked up cause people dont care about their own sh*t and fat asses get out of their cars huffing and puffing cause they are so damn fat and they need to smack my car with the door of theirs so the fat asses have something to prop their fat asses against so they can get the f*ck out!!

One day I came out of work to find some old hag using my car as a hand rail. One of the Hags with the gigantic rings on each finger!

It also is almost like every time I do a good detail I find something that the dealership I bought it from tried to hide.
