Which battery does everyone prefer for their LS? My LS battery is already dying only after 20,000 miles. Took it to the dealer and it reads 120/650 and fails but the amps are good as they are above 12. I don't want to buy the battery from Lincoln because they are asking too much. The battery is no longer under warranty because I just renewed the warranty back in July. Any insight is appreciated.

I've had good results with Duralast batteries from AutoZone. Put them in my last 3 Lincolns, and the LS will get one when the present one goes. Can't beat their 7 year pro-rated warranty.

Use the SEARCH at the top of the page, this has been well covered.

From the owners manual.

"Your battery is designed to purge any battery gases to the outside of the
vehicle by means of a vent hose. This vent hose MUST be attached at all
times. Replacement batteries must be of the same vented design."

optima is good for the audio guys but for the stocker people an auto-zone duralast does the job and like they mentioned before they are under warranty that you can't go wrong with.

STFU. Products and performance change monthly and this is good information to update our community with. Using the search usually yields results that are months old and I want to know what people are using NOW not 6 months ago.

Thank you to the two that answered my question.

Are you actually noticing any problems with this one? Could be that the dealership is just trying to sell you a new battery!
I guess your battery is 4 years old so it's possible it's on the way out. But you might want to get a second opinion somewhere just in case.

how much does the dealership want for the battery? mine cost like 180 but i doubt i will have to buy another one any time soon so that's why i got an expensive one. it's a rockford fosgate one that when i installed i noticed that my interior lights didn't dim anymore. and as far as products changing, that's a definate yes. as soon as i bought mine there was another model out about 2 weeks later and the one i bought went down to like 150, lol. shop around and decide which has what you desire. i have hook-ups on optima batteries for those that are interested around my area btw.

Nah, my service advisor is a good friend of mine. I know pretty much everyone at Pavilion man, he wouldn't try to screw me. He even told me to go somewhere else because of what Lincoln would charge me. He tested the battery several times for me. He did mention Autozone would be the best place to look. I thought I would just ask what battery everyone preferred.

that's how you know it's a bad buy when the person that works there refers you to another store, lol, j/k i know he's your friend and he was looking out for you but this does go to show that the dealership usually has the highest prices but they are oem replacement parts. good luck bro

You're right, it is OEM and I'd like to have that but not for the $160.00 price. I know you can find a better battery cheaper somewhere else.

His point was that you need to use a battery that is vented. This is critical because the LS's battery is in the trunk and gives off nasty gasses that can get into the passenger compartment. Whatever battery you choose, it must be vented.

I understand the battery is vented....I would of asked had I of not known. This was simply asking what brand people are using now in their LS'

I have the optima red top i recomend it, its by far the best battery on the market if you have a system that drains alot of power go with the yellow top but if its for cranking the the motor up then red is the way to go. I know there a little pricey but well worth it and there warranty is great. good luck.
