I've done a little searching around and have come up empty handed.

Anyone using Bassani mufflers?

Got any sound clips or video?

What size universal muffler did you use and what are the specs on the rest of the setup?

A buddy of mine has a 99 Cobra with a Bassani setup on it and that's the kind of sound I want. But they don't make a kit for the LS so I have to peice something together. The Magnaflow doesn't sound very good to me. I want something unique.
 
I have a pair of Bassanis on my '63 F-100 ICB, with FE engine. I've had them for about 10 years. I particularly like the sound in that installation. (They are put on the ends of a 3 inch 321 SS X-piped system.) I ordered them from Bassani, made for the application. The mufflers are 3 feet long.
They are just a little louder than I'd want on my LS. There's no conceivable reason you'd not be satisfied about the quality.

Just some FYI but that exhaust like every other exhaust would sound nothing at all like the cars mentioned when applied to the LS.

Good luck regardless and let us know how it goes if you decide to get them.
 
camthman has a bassani system on his LS. I've been trying to get him to put up a video...
 
Yeah, don't compare other cars to the LS when it comes to exhaust. The LS has a tiny V8, won't sound like a 4.6.
 
I'm willing to bet the Bassani mufflers would sound great on the LS. Just like Cammerfe, I'm comparing apples to oranges, but I had a Bassani catback on my Contour SVT and it sounded incredible. That was on a 2.5L V6, and then subsequently on the 3.0L V6 when I swapped motors. When I go with a custom exhaust on the LS, I'll probably end up going that route, just because of the sound I've heard from every vehicle I've been around with a Bassani exhaust.

Thanks for the info.

I realize that the 4.6 will sound different than a 3.9, but I know I could do better than that Magnaflow that everyone seems to be running. I'm also looking into an X pipe. Anyone make headers for these? :D
 
Kooks does, but it's definitely a custom job. My friend Nick contacted them to see if they could make a header flange for us to mess around with making headers....they said no, but we'll make you headers for $2200.
 
yes I have them with no cats.... pretty amazing sounds. Im going to say one of the best sounding cars Ive ever heard. I cant get ahold of a camera to take the video.

Heh, that would only be worth it with a bunch of supporting mods.
 
Sounds good from what I can hear... but def need a better quality vid for the full effect.
 
yeah they're pretty big (4 inch tips) but that's what the 05 GTs would be
using if they go for bassani's plus I told my friend from stangbangers I
was going to cut them and weld on 3 inch Slant Cut Non-Rolled tips but then
He Said those Tips are what makes the Bassani sound like that and changing
em will change the sound and might not sound good...

He Said it won't look too big If I do some Cut-outs and lift the Mufflers Up some......
 
It wont look bad if you cut out the bumper like you said but I cant tell anything from that video as far as sound .

I may consider this set up, whats it run?

One thing, please pleeeeeeaaaase get those mufflers lifted up more and do the bumper cut out:D .
